leather
We want to offer quality, not only in manufacturing, but also in the materials. Our most commonly used leather for camera straps is our premium leather (high-quality full-grain leather). This is mentioned aspremium leather in the description or heading.
The leather comes from Italy and is ordered from one of our suppliers. The leather has a slight grain and is pleasantly soft due to frequent milling. The leather is currently available as a camera strap in black and cognac. All leather has been vegetable tanned.
Our vintage camera strap in black or reddish brown with a silver rivet and rings is made of bare leather (full-grain leather) with a medium firmness. The grained leather, where the hair pores are clearly visible, has a smooth, slightly matte surface. Our Vintage No. 2 camera strap with seam is made of full-grain cowhide and has a medium-firm grip. The purely vegetable-tanned full-grain leather impresses with its very beautiful vintage look. The leather was lightly waxed and given a pull-up effect. This leather is also used for our extra-slim camera strap with seam.
production
The edges of every leather camera strap (except suede ) are sanded down and treated with a special leather product. This seals the edges and gives them a nice look, but also roundness. Depending on the camera strap, the leather pieces are glued together and fitted with a rivet. If it is a screw rivet, this should be tightened over time. For our camera straps with a seam, a wax seam of 0.8 mm and 1 mm is used. Here you can find a video of the production.
